How brain training and muscle training are the same.

Muscles of the body and thoughts in the mind are similar; the underused grow weak and atrophy, the overused fire automatically and remain strong.

To function optimally all parts of each system need to thrive. Conscious effort is required to do this in both cases. There is no shortcut.

Physical System

If I have a habit of overusing my hip flexors (ie the electrical signal from the brain to the hip flexor muscle is strong and steady) and underusing my glutes (ie the electrical signal from the brain to the glutes is weak and intermittent) , ….the result is likely physical pain.

Mental System

If I have a habit of overusing the “I’m not good enough” message (ie the synapses creating this thought pattern are strong and steady) and underusing the “I’m confident” message (ie the synapses creating this though pattern a weak and intermittent)…the result is likely mental pain.

In both cases - we need to rewire each of these systems: though conscious focus, thought and effort.
